We provide students with field research, science communication, and professional development experiences. Explore our four Pathway Programs, developed to meet a broad range of students where they are to help them get where they want to be.
High School Pathway
Our High School Pathway serves high school students in the North Florida/South Georgia region by providing externship and Bright Future Volunteer Hour opportunities. We tailor these experiences to students’ interests and goals. Some examples include: assisting an intern with their research, participating with our interns in service projects with our partners and developing a social media or other public education campaign.
Pathways Community
Our Pathways Community serves college students that are unable to commit to a semester-long internship or are unsure about their interest in natural resource work by providing short-term field research and volunteer hour opportunities. This program typically engages student organizations but also can serve individuals that are curious about field research or natural resource profession options.
Pathways Internship
Our Pathways Internship is a traditional semester internship program that engages Florida A&M and Florida State University and Tallahassee State and Southern Technical College students who would like to explore natural resource professions or communications in a more in-depth and formal way. Interns receive class credit for the first semester and if they stay on for another semester, receive a stipend. We tailor these experiences to students’ interests and goals.
Conservation Academy
Conservation Academy is an intensive certification program through which students complete four modules focused on field research, science communication, professional development, and professional networking. This program best serves students who know they are interested in becoming a natural resource professional.
